Child Abuse Prevention Statistics The National Exchange club has been working to prevent the tragedy of child abuse in America
for 25 Years. Now the Healing Field Foundation and the National
Exchange club have partnered to introduce a new program to create
further public awareness about child abuse in America. Here are a few child abuse facts not commonly known. In America: - more than 3 children die each day as a result of child abuse in the home
- more
children (age four and younger) die from child abuse and neglect than
any other single leading cause of death for infants and young children
- child abuse is reported, on average, every 10 seconds
- children under the age of one account for 41% of child fatalities due to neglect
- 85% of child abuse fatalities are younger than 6 years of age
- nine
in 10 Americans polled regard child abuse as a serious problem, yet
only on in three Americans have reported abuse when confronted with an
actual situation
- child abuse is 100% preventable
On April 2 The Sugar Land Healing Field will display: 1,699 American flags representing the number of reported child abuse cases in Ft. Bend county in 2004 This
is terrorism in our own homes, of the most vulnerable of victims. We
lose more children in one year to child abuse than we have lost in
American lives in almost 3 years in the war on terrorism. Back to our web page Last Updated Tuesday, November 22 2005 @ 10:43 AM GMT-7
