A Healing FieldŽ for Veteran's
A field of red, white and blue will stand in Waterloo, the birthplace of Memorial Day, as a tribute and honor to the Veteran's that have served our country.
The Celebrate Commemorate Memorial Day Committee of Waterloo, New York will be observing the 140th consecutive Memorial Day rite with the additional staging of a national community program called "The Healing Field." This event will coincide with the Memorial Day observance with the flying of over 1000 American flags in honor and memory of those that serve not only our community but also our country.
This spectacular, patriotic, and healing event has attracted record media attention and community involvement all over the USA. Ironically, even though The Healing Field Memorial came to be as a healing process for those that lost their lives in New York City during 911, it has never been staged in New York State before. Waterloo, NY, which is nationally recognized as the Birthplace of Memorial Day, proudly announces that the Healing Field will make its debut in New York State at Waterloo this year!

This healing field will be erected on the Finger Lakes Health grounds of the Huntington Living Center, Rte 5 & 20, Waterloo, May 25-30th, 2006. It will benefit the Waterloo American Legion, the Waterloo VFW, Waterloo Memorial Day Museum, as well as the Celebrate Commemorate Memorial Day Event.
Celebrate Commemorate Memorial Day is an annual event and welcomes the addition of the Healing Field in addition to its other events!
The event is free to the public and the flags are available for sponsorship. Sponsor it, own it, take it home and continue the patriotic tribute. All proceeds from the flag sales and sponsorships will be shared by the Waterloo American Legion, the Waterloo VFW, the Memorial Day Museum. and the Celebrate Commemorate Committee.
