A Flag Memorial to Honor Our Military, First Responders, and All Americans

VIEW EVENT SCHEDULE The coalition sponsoring this patriotic and emotional event consists of The Findlay-Hancock Emergency Medical Service, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Findlay Police Department, the Military and the Findlay-Hancock County Fire Departments. Proceeds will be distributed equally among the five sponsors to local charities of their choice. To participate in this heartfelt event, you can purchase a U.S. flag in honor of a family member or friend. Flag poles may be personalized with photographs, letters, ribbons and more to allow people to know who the flag is honoring.
Flags will be available for $30.00 each. Purchase of flags include a U.S. flag, and pole. Order forms will be available in area businesses throughout Findlay this summer. To have your name announced at the event, you must purchase it by August 31, but flags will continue to be available throughout the event.

The flags for the Flag City Healing Field will be placed Thursday, September 7, 2006. An open ceremony will be scheduled with honorees’ names to be read.
The original Healing Field was the 9/11 Flag Memorial in Sandy Utah September of 2002, to demonstrate the sheer enormity of the human loss that occurred in the terrorist attacks. The field, founded by Paul Swenson, has become a very personal gesture of mourning and support for friends and family. It has swept the nation with its patriotism and passion.
