Silver, Jr., EHFD-13 years-Chief Training Officer, puts his life on the line every day and we are so very proud of him.  Jay was a volunteer fireman and paramedic before he joined the East Hartford Fire Department, so he has been serving the public since his college days in the late 80's.  He is truly a wonderful son and is very good to his parents - kind and caring. Patricia Ann Carney, our Aunt, is our Hero.  She recently lost her battle to brain cancer.  She courageously fought the cancer for 2-1/2 years, remaining positive and believing she would beat it.  Her tower of strength and perseverance is an inspiration to all who knew her.  She is greatly missed.

He enlisted when it was not popular to do so, following in the footsteps of his ancestors, who served in every US conflict since the US Civil War. Sonny, you are my forever hero – welcome home.
