--A Flag Display-- For Hometown Heroes  June 13-15, 2008 "Rain or Shine" Hartford will be the host city to a 2008 Healing Field of Honor. A beautiful display of over 800 U.S. flags.  These 3x5' flags will stand 8 foot tall in perfect rows and columns across a field of green in the shadows of our State Capitol.  This living display will fly as a patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans.  You are invited to sponsor a Flag in honor of the men and women who have served, who are still serving, or have given their lives for our country.  Flags can also be sponsored in honor of anyone you consider a hero - a Firefighter, Police Officer, EMT, a Favorite Teacher, or anyone who has made a difference in your life. Please join us and walk this Hometown Heroes, Field of Honor.  This is the perfect opportunity for all of us to come together as a community to remember, to honor, and to heal. Hosted by: The American Legion and  The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Connecticut   Believing that the future of America lies in its youth, all proceeds from the sale of flags from the Healing Field go towards scholarships given by The American Legion and The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Connecticut.
