Program Details

The Southwest Georgia Exchange Club of Albany and its Community Partners will host a Healing Field Flag Memorial Event from September 9-11, 2005.

Imagine a sea of red white and blue. 1000 American flags will stand eight foot tall in perfect rows and columns across a field of green at the Albany Mall. The visual effect will be one of infinity. The sacrifice and memory becomes real and tangible when you see this breathtaking display in honor of soldiers who have served and sacrificed to keep America free. These young men and women have given their lives in the line of duty and met the call to arms with courage.

Adjoining the Soldier's Field will be a field to honor the children that have lost their lives at the hand of child abuse. Child abuse is terrorism in our own homes on the most innocent of victims. These are America's children and this is America's responsibility to prevent.

This breathtaking display will be free to the public. Bring a camera and your family. Join us as we honor, remember, and heal.

The event will be open from September 9 until September 11 at 6:00 pm when the flags will be taken down and given to those who have sponsored the individual flags to continue the contribute in their own homes. Assembly of the field will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Any volunteers from the community are invited to contact Dick Neff at 229-759-2483

This event is hosted by the Southwest Georgia Exchange Club of Albany and the flags need your sponsorship. For $30.00 you can sponsor a flag and after the event you can take your flag home to continue the tribute and honor to our great country and the brave men and women who defend the cause of freedom around the world.

Each 3'x5' Healing Field flag includes the eight foot pole with gold ball and the rebar to post it in the lawn of your home or business.

The Healing Field in Albany, GA is licensed with the National Healing
