Volunteers Unite for Our Veterans and Currently Serving Men & Women

Open to the public, free of charge.

Sandy & West Jordan, UT will be the host citities to a 2009 Healing Field where you will be able behold a beautiful display of three thousand U.S. flags. These 3'X5' flags will stand 8' tall in perfect rows and columns.

This year the 3000 flags will be split between two sites.  The Sandy field will contain 1500 flags on 10000 South Centennial Parkway .  To see the rest of the 3000 flags you will need to go to West Jordan's Veteran's Memorial Park located at
1585 West 7800 South.

This living display of heroism will fly a temporary patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans, to all volunteers helping our veterans and currently serving men and woment and will honor all those who died September 11, 2001.
Please join us and walk these two awe inspiring display of flags.  This is the perfect opportunity for all of us to unite as a community to remember and honor those who

Schedule of Event at the West Jordan Field

West Jordan is holding a Patriot Day "Tattoo" Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at the West Jordan Arena, 8035 S. 2200 West. The Tattoo is patterned after the world-famous Edinburg Tattoo where pipe bands, drummers, military regiments, dancers and even African tribes have performed.
The West Jordan Tattoo will remember Patriot Day with a 1,500 flag Healing field (West Jordan and Sandy), pipe bands, drum corps, the 23rd Army band, highland dancers and other entertainment. A marketplace with arts & crafts and ethnic foods opens at 5 p.m. and can be enjoyed before and during the Tattoo entertainment. The Tattoo starts promptly at 7pm. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
Dating back to the 18th century, drummers and pipers have served as the summons to call troops and soldiers back to their barracks for the night. From this tradition, the Tattoo was born and serves as sensory feast, which entertains and calls for international friendship.
All proceeds’ from Utah’s Patriot Day Tattoo will
benefit Gold Star Families (families who have lost a family member
during active duty) and the
Garff Foundation. For more information, visit
www.wjordan.com or call Julie at 801-569-5119.
